Indication
Indicated for treatment of neuropathic pain in CKD and dialysis patients. Used for uremic neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and post-herpetic neuralgia in renal disease patients.
Mode of Action
Gabapentin modulates calcium channels reducing neuropathic pain signals, while nortriptyline inhibits reuptake of serotonin and norepinephrine, providing synergistic pain relief in uremic neuropathy.
