Indication
Used for prophylaxis of organ rejection in kidney transplant recipients. Indicated as part of combination immunosuppressive therapy to prevent acute and chronic rejection episodes.
Mode of Action
Mycophenolic acid inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, blocking lymphocyte proliferation and preventing T and B cell responses to alloantigens in transplanted organs.
