Indication
Treatment of carnitine deficiency in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Used to improve anemia, muscle weakness, and cardiac function in end-stage renal disease patients on dialysis.
Mode of Action
Levocarnitine facilitates fatty acid transport into mitochondria for energy production. Supplementation corrects dialysis-induced carnitine depletion, improving erythropoiesis and reducing erythropoietin resistance.
